Sadly this piece is not an original piece. It based on a reference. The original piece is utterly beautiful and inspiring. Hopefully I'll get to the point where I can create a similar piece without any references!

You might see this piece as a companion piece to "Vampiric Dragon: Steps." However, this piece was drawn about three years after "Vampiric Dragon: Steps."
I drew this piece to practice building up and drawing detail and to analyze how I work.
My process for this piece:
1. Draw rough sketch of reference. Focus more on placement and outline than on details within body.
2. Ink sketch and then ink in details
3. Shade in sketch to give it more dimension
