Here's Levi smiling :) I am excited for the second season of SnK!

After watching "A Choice with No Regrets," I must admit that Levi is hands-down my favorite fictional character(hmm, wait, maybe after Zuko because we all know that Zuko = the epitome of good character development).

Get ready for a short character analysis ->

I remember disliking Levi the first time I watched SnK because I didn't pay close attention to the politics between the Survey Corps and Military Police. I was shocked watching him beat up Eren at the court, and after that moment, I just couldn't find myself being interested in his character. However, the second time I watched SnK, I was able to focus more of my attention on the supporting characters because I knew the overall plot of the anime. The scene where Petra explains Levi's shortcomings despite his being dubbed as "Humanity's Strongest" resonated with me, and I started liking Levi because he has all these facets to his personality that we don't immediately see.

"A Choice with No Regrets" finally revealed fragments of Levi's past, and the loss of his two closest friends explained much of his later behavior.

Back to the art analysis:

I see this piece as a companion to the "Sonic" piece because I drew both pieces within the same week.

I had a lot of issues with the shading in this piece. It is definitely not consistent. For example, in some portions, like the face and cravat, I shade using thin, slanted lines. In other parts, such as uniform, I shade by blending thick strokes together.

I also definitely need to work on the hand-to-face ratio (the hand is too small in comparison to the face).
